I was backstage working with Robert at the charity concert, and I was angry.
He put up his hands defensively.
"Look man, I'm sorry. I don't have your $200 right now, but I promise I'll get it to you on Tuesday..."
Not this time, buddy.
"That's what you said last Friday, and the Friday before that, and the one before that...Shall I go on?"
I was getting louder. Robert looked nervous.
"Quiet down!" he pleaded. "They'll hear you!"
I paused, listening to the concert in front of us. Miss Lizzy and The Hometown Girls were going strong in the middle of "Give It All Up," the song they'd written to aid the hurricane victims. It was fast and loud. All of them, Lizzy and the background singers, were giving it their all.
"Quit stalling, no one is going to hear us," I seethed.
"But you know what happens later on..."
"I don't care!" I shouted. "Listen man, I know you're not doing so hot right now, but neither am I! Nobody is! I need that $200 man! NEED IT! I'm going to be evicted tomorrow without it, so if there's any way you can get it back to me, I want it now!"
"But Mike..." Robert started to say.
I couldn't hold it in any longer.
"I WANT MY MONEY BACK!" I screamed.
Robert didn't say anything: he looked mortified. I was about to wipe that stupid look off of his face when I noticed the silence around us.
After the climax of "Give It All Up," Lizzy and the girls cut everything off, a sudden silence for dramatic impact.
And guess who had just yelled that he wanted his money back, at a charity concert, in the middle of that pause?
I'm sure my face was white; I felt the blood run out of my head.
"On second thought..." I started to say.
Robert shook his head.
"I'll get it to you. I have a feeling you're going to need a lot more than $200 after tonight."
He put up his hands defensively.

Literature
Writing of joy instead of depression
Love is full of mania and exuberance
The thrill of finding new things-
and a million different paths
unexplored- tumultuous and tangled.
My love for you feels like forever,
as if it has always been;
waiting inside of me
-for you.
You lighten my heart,
and brighten my days
-And the moon watches over us
as she waxes and wanes
between our nights.
I can see a future with you,
A lifetime of happiness and joy.
But I am afraid:
Afraid of nearly tasting it, on the tip of my tongue,
so fearful that it stops my heart-
and time when I'm with you.
I want to grasp the future,
Touch it, feel it!
While you press against me,
encircling me in your

They don't know what to do, they're burned out like me
A fire that's been lit for far too long like me
They're thinking what a hopeless case like me

"why does she self-sabotage?" like me
But do they even understand what it's like to be like me?
I'm burned out, but they don't feel the burn like me
I'm fed up, but they don't feel the fire like me
Do you understand what it's like to have your teenagehood wiped away like me?
They say the grass is greener on the other side but it's wilted like me
They define crazy as a word to be like me
But is it crazy to scream for help into the void like me?
